What Does Social Media Mean to You?

That’s like saying what is the significance of holidays to any individual. Not to say social media is like Christmas, but the presents it can deliver to your business can make it feel that way. Tweeting, Friending and Fan-ing are all now pretty common words used in our everyday lives and are words used to describe free services available to all small businesses in order to market their product.

Why not? It seems like a hassle; you don’t care what your college roommate is now up to (the one who was a messy slob who blasted her music while you were studying) and what Peter McPeterson ate for lunch. I’m telling you to avoid the nonsense (although difficult, considering how addicted one can become) and promote your business. Create a fan page on Facebook. Post relevant information related to your business. Twitter can be a way to update followers on your business. Whole Foods Markets have a following of what appears to be like a gazillion followers. Small businesses do not have a following of a gazillion twitter users, however one curious twitter user can become one customer. It’s that easy. Try it, it works! And if it doesn’t work for you, your time was all that was spent on it. Farmville is not all that social media has to offer. Make it work for you.
