Word of Mouth – May 12, 2011

The Artist & The Peace Summit

This week, we put all the ideas and tools together to share the success story of an artist and a peace summit.

Dorothy Frankel is an award winning sculptor and friend of ours who was chosen to exhibit five bronze sculptures at the Newark Peace Education Summit this weekend. The conference focuses on peacemaking practices from around the world (www.newarkpeace.org). Notable speakers at the event include His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Somaly Mam, Nobel Laureates and peace advocates from a wide cross section of cultures.

Where We Come In
Our job at Hamptons Creative Group involved corralling Dorothy’s artistic brilliance into a coherent message about her contribution to the event. Her work is about peace, love, compassion and connection, so being displayed there is a great honor. She was chosen because of her own peace advocacy and her ties with Tibet House, one of the event sponsors.

One of Dorothy’s goals is to gain exposure for her aim of placing a large scale monument of Connection in a public place. To learn more about this effort, watch this video.

The Big Picture

Global PeaceDorothy’s creativity, and the ways she expresses it through her art and community advocacy, connected her to a larger, global peace movement. That’s how it works for her, and brought this amazing opportunity to gain international exposure to her doorstep.

Sometimes, it’s the things we do away from our business that connect us on a deep level with others and thus lead to bigger opportunities. That’s where Hamptons Creative Group can help you – by understanding your important professional AND personal goals and how they can connect you to the larger community.
