Message from the Alchemist

 

Were you at the marvelous Evening at Bedell Cellars last month? We saw lots of our new North Fork friends – we’re new members of the North Fork Chamber and met them in June at our Making Social Media Digestible presentation. Linda was one of the co-chairs of the Bedell event, which had a 35% increase in attendance, and benefited the Parrish Art Museum. The silent auction raised lots of money for the museum, and Hamptons Creative Group donated a social media package. We can’t wait to start work with the lucky bidder.
 
We took the opportunity among friends old and new to record a video invitation for our Conversations with the Experts webinar series staring July 14 (see below). The rain restrained itself to a gentle mist that made for a beautiful vineyard experience and background for the video – the 11th straight year of consistently decent weather for this outdoor event.
 
The summer season’s now in high gear. We hope you’ll mark your calendars for Conversations with the Experts!

 

Heard Around the Cooler
 

The annual July 4th parade in Southampton, along with the apple pie contest, makes a great excuse to take pictures. We’ve posted ours on the Hamptons Water Cooler.

Plan for the unexpected. July has 5 Fridays and Saturdays this year! Are you ready for the unexpected “extra” days to talk with your customers, or offer something new and special? Or maybe you want a summer full of the same old, same old. Why not use these unexpected extra days to celebrate your business in small ways. Send a note to a client you haven’t heard from in a while. Thank your regular customers via email, just for being loyal. These small, unexpected touches will keep your brand top of mind and continue the conversation long after July’s memory fades.

Continuing the conversations theme, our success story this month came to us after our conversation with the North Fork Chamber of Commerce in June. The Sound View Inn and owner Ellen Wiederlight saw our presentation on Making Social Media Digestible and decided that she needed our help. Everyone on the North Fork knows the Sound View Inn – it’s a charming, local hotel in Greenport with more than a half-century of loyal following.

To keep the conversation flowing between the Inn and its guests, and open conversations with new guests and referrals, Hamptons Creative Group is creating their Facebook page and other social media opportunities for online conversation. The Inn will definitely highlight their new multi-sportsplex for tennis and basketball that’s unique for the area.
