~ Heard Around The Cooler ~

The more events we go to, the more we realize you never know who you’re going to meet, and what might come of meeting them. People have a profound respect for seeing you out and about, and view you as a mover and shaker. We happen to love networking, and it’s part of what we do well – meet new people, retain and refresh existing relationships, and reconnect with those we haven’t seen lately. These opportunities to connect – which reinvigorate us – are invaluable, even when they are primarily social, and not business related.

Linda recently spent a powerful evening at The Watermill Center’s benefit gala as guest of Dorothy Lichtenstein. Founded in 1992 by theater and visual artist Robert Wilson on the wooded site of a former Western Union communication research facility near Southampton, Watermill fosters research in the arts of the stage, providing young and emerging artists with a unique environment for creation and exploration in theater and all its related art forms.

The theme was Paradiso, a combination of Cirque Du Soleil, Alice in Wonderland, and heaven. Guests wandered through the landscape in a choreographed way, coming upon silver-clad performers, bewigged dancers and trees made of light. The artists, from 40 countries, spent 2 weeks developing the show. We were surrounded by celebrities – Sharon Stone acted as auctioneer for the exclusive silent auction, and Alec Baldwin and Jay McInerney together purchased a private concert offered by singer Rufus Wainwright. By the time the dancing started at 11:30 pm, we were exhausted! Click here to see for yourself.

This event wasn’t business related, and the people-watching phenomenal. We met some amazing individuals, hobnobbed with the glitterati of New York, and strengthened our connections with those we knew.

Develop the tools of the trade. Every brand needs marketing outlets – and these include more than a business card, brochure or website. Does your brand extend to your voicemail messages, online profiles and logo? Every representation reinforces the brand you want to present, so be professional and consistent across each medium.

Need help uncovering or recovering your brilliant brand? We’re experts at finding the success story within any brand. As the connectors, we conjure visibility, image and credibility with and for you.

Rose Jewelers

Rose Jewelers logo At 70 years old, Rose Jewelers is transforming itself! This family owned and run retailer with two shops in Patchogue and Southampton decided this was the year to put a modern twist on things, while honoring the tradition and timelessness of their business. We’ve helped them refresh their logo and rejuvenate the brand by entering the world of social media with enewsletters, email blasts and a Facebook page.

Rose Jewelers has always been known for their extreme customer care, which extends to their incredible philanthropic support of many charities. We know that the community will embrace their renewed spirit.

The new website’s not quite ready (you’ll be able to browse and buy online), but we know you’ll love it. Visit them at Rose Jewelers, and see the new logo here.

Going Mobile

We’re going mobile! Soon we’ll be nurturing our audiences (and yours) by sending targeted, relevant, timely and valuable messages to their smart phones or other mobile device. We’re already versed in using social media. Adding mobile messaging keeps us (and you) on the cutting edge. The amazing Donna Amos of Solopreneur Solutions, LLC is helping us. Watch for more information soon!

Honoring Mom’s Memory

Linda and her family will honor the memory of her mom, Abbey, by publishing a book of her poetry. Spearheaded by Uncle Lou (who at 93 is still sharp as a tack), the kids will contribute letters to mom, illustrations and figure out a great title. We’re excited to help with this wonderful project.

Rose Jewelers logo The North Fork Experience

We love The North Fork Experience, an eco-tourism company offering guided tours of the wineries & vineyards, organic farms and oyster farms on Long Island’s North Fork. It’s very “unHamptons”- enjoy an earthy, laid back adventure and eat and drink local. Check them out on Facebook, too.

Power of Purpose

We’ve been telling you for months that Linda’s chapter in Kelly K. O’Neil’s book, “Power of Purpose,” will be out soon. We’ll “interrupt this broadcast” soon to let you know when the book’s available.

~ Hamptons Creative Group Blog ~

Did you hear Linda’s confession? You did if you’re reading our blog! Every week we’re talking about connecting, building brands, social media, networking and other topics we’re passionate about. Keep the flow going by adding your own thoughts.
